The Community Outreach Officer is responsible for building strong relationships with local communities, partner organizations, and stakeholders to support the successful implementation of community development programs. The role focuses on increasing community participation, promoting awareness of organizational initiatives, and ensuring that programs effectively address the needs of beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and partner organizations.
- Organize awareness campaigns, workshops, and community meetings.
- Conduct community needs assessments and collect feedback from beneficiaries.
- Coordinate outreach activities with program and field teams.
- Promote community participation in organizational projects and events.
- Prepare reports on outreach activities, participation, and program impact.
- Represent the organization at community events and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure all outreach activities follow organizational policies and safeguarding standards.
- Support emergency response and community mobilization efforts when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in community outreach, social mobilization, or program implementation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, or community-based organizations.
- Knowledge of community development and public engagement practices.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in organizing public awareness campaigns and events.
- Fluency in English and Nepali.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and rural communities.
