Every day, large amounts of perfectly edible food are left unused while many individuals and families struggle to access even a single nutritious meal. Himalayan Food Bank bridges this gap by recovering surplus food from restaurants, hotels, farms, businesses, events, and generous donors. Each donation is carefully inspected, sorted, and handled according to food safety standards to ensure that every item we distribute is fresh, safe, and suitable for consumption. By reducing food waste and redirecting it to those who need it most, we create a sustainable solution that benefits both people and the environment.

Our work follows a simple yet impactful journey — Collect, Store, Cook, and Serve. After collection, food is safely stored and prepared by dedicated volunteers and community partners before being delivered to children, elderly citizens, low-income families, disaster-affected communities, and anyone facing food insecurity. This continuous cycle is powered by compassionate donors, volunteers, local organizations, and supporters who believe that no one should go hungry. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more caring Nepal—one meal, one family, and one community at a time.

Food Collection & Rescue

We partner with farms, mills, wholesalers, and grocers to rescue surplus grain and produce before it spoils — turning what would be waste into the start of someone's next meal.

02 — STORE

Cold & Dry Storage Depots

Small, well-placed depots keep rescued food safe and edible for longer, so nothing collected in the hills goes bad before it reaches a valley kitchen or relief van.

03 — COOK

Community Kitchens

सामुदायिक भान्सा

Volunteer-run kitchens cook daily meals for children, elderly residents, and displaced families, turning donated ingredients into food that's warm, familiar, and ready to eat.

04 — SERVE

Emergency Relief Distribution
